Personal Maintenance Assistant

The aim of this project is to create an application for Personal Digital Assistants (PDA’s) to support maintenance workers while performing a work order in the case of a preventive – periodic maintenance. Maintenance workers are supplied with a PDA with Microsoft Windows CE operating system, with wireless networking capabilities, hosting the application.  The application may exchange information with a Central Database (CDB) but also will be capable to maintain and utilize locally a piece of information in a Local Database (LDB) whenever connectivity with the CDB is not available. When connectivity with the CDB is restored, locally stored information will be transferred to CDB and new information will be received from CDB, without interrupting normal operation.
